I try hard to make a point of visiting everyone involved in any particular meme each week – sometimes (like the past couple weeks, when free time was a commodity I did not have) I fall short, and for that I apologize! I try to spend some quality time and really take in the meaning of each post that I visit, and not just zip through and leave a comment that could have been for any kind of post. Most of my visitors do the same, and for that I thank you!
Now to my peeve… I’ve mentioned it before, and I don’t know if it’s the headache I have right now turning me a bit mean or what the deal is, but I feel the driving need say it again – please enable “Name/URL” on your blog comments if you use Blogger! Most do, but I just went through a bunch that make you leave a blogger profile or “OpenID” profile instead of your actual name and URL. Folks, I don’t use any of those services, and like many other bloggers, I have my own unique domain website. You’re preventing us from leaving our true info, or worse, making us use a Blogger profile that we either don’t want, or don’t use.
Some Blogspot bloggers don’t realize you can enable that function, and others are worried that it will open up the spam flood gates. That simply isn’t true if you set things up properly. I wrote the instructions for this a few months ago – have a look here.
I’m not nasty, and I don’t want to come across like that, but I have decided I’m not going to leave that old Blogger profile ID anymore. If that means I can’t comment on your blog, I find that a real shame, because I probably enjoyed your post and wanted to say so.
Just my 2ยข, for what it’s worth…
