You know… that Blog?

Just another Auld Lang Syne

Written By: Jenn - Dec• 31•09

Looking back, it’s been a pretty fantastic year for me. I started blogging only 8 months ago, yet I feel that I’ve been doing this all my life. It’s just something that feels right to me.

I’ve made many bloggy friends, and for that I am grateful. You’ve all enriched my life in so many ways just by sharing the day to day minutiae, joys, and heartaches we’ve all experienced. It has been a sweet journey so far, and I’m really looking forward to what tomorrow brings. Figuratively speaking, that is, because I don’t expect anything significant to occur tomorrow just because it’s a new calendar year ;)

My family has made it through another year with good health, good times, and love. For the first time in countless years, I didn’t get horribly ill with yet another serious sinus or throat infection, or even a cold for that matter. I attribute that to oil of oregano, which I absolutely swear by now. (I’ll write more about this in another post… next year!) My children are happy and enjoying good friends. Our true-blue friends are all happy and healthy as well, and we see each other as often as schedules allow. It’s been a busy year so that isn’t as often as we’d like. Still, when we’re together, it’s good. My business has had a great year, and all signs point to the same for next year. The hubby’s job is solid, and pays well. Things are good.

My group is together, and thriving – how is it possible to love these three very different individuals as much as I do? They each have brought a layer of extreme joy to my life, collectively and individually, and for that, grateful does not seem a strong enough word. I feel as though I’ve awakened from a long hibernation. It isn’t just a matter of music, which of course is the reason we came together in the first place. We just gel so seamlessly and wonderfully that you know it was meant to be. There is nothing I wouldn’t do for these soul mates of mine.

So yeah, it’s been a great year. I wonder what 2010 has in store for us… hopefully more of the same. Perhaps a move to a neighboring city, which we’ve been considering for a while now. Definitely more music, more laughter, more love.

We have nothing planned as far as festivities go tonight. For us, it’s just another Auld Lang Syne at home. I’m ok with that – I’m not big on crowds.

What do you have planned? Whatever it is, I hope you stay safe even as you have the time of your life.

Happy New Year!
