Sensational Haiku Wednesday

Welcome to “Sensational Haiku Wednesday!”

Click here for info and background on this weekly event!

The basics:

Haiku is simple! It is 3 non-rhyming lines of 5, 7, and 5 syllables respectively (a great way to use your fingers!)

This week’s theme is: Belong(-ing)

      It takes just a hand
      And your genuine, warm smile
      To know I belong

      Laughing eyes twinkle
Warmth of your arms around me
      Contented, sharing

      Together, apart
      Wherever we seem to be
      We are always us

Next week’s theme: Food (you’re welcome, ShaMoo)

Note: Nothing makes me happier than to see new people getting “hooked on haiku”! Keep it going to make it to the Hooked on Haiku List

To participate in this week’s event, please use the following code in your post on your own blog (if you don’t have a blog, post your Haiku as a comment):

Gah! I’m hit! I’m hit!

Thom, that scoundrel, tagged me. He’s always threatening to bite me (or was that asking me to bite him? I forget), and I guess this is the cyber form?? Not quite sure about that, I think it’ll take further consideration.

It’s easy though; I am to answer only 8 questions and then tag 8 other bloggers.

I know what you’re thinking; oh puh-leeeeze don’t let her tag me, oh please oh please “Oh how fun!” Right? Right? Yeah, that’s exactly what I was thinking when I got tagged. Again.

Here are the questions and my answers:

    1. Why did you start blogging? I have always been full of it. Words, that is. Advice too. Ideas. Minutiae.

    2. If you could travel anywhere in the world with no restriction of costs, where would it be and why? Everywhere.

    3. Did you have a teacher in school that had a great influence on your life? If so, what? George Cuperis, for 3 years in Jr. High (in Calgary) he was a man of violent temper, and great passion, and the best music teacher I’ve ever had. I also had a number of excellent academic teachers in high school that stand out, and a couple Profs from College as well, but none made the lasting impression that Cuperis did.

    4. If you could spend the day with a famous person, who would it be, and what would you do? David Suzuki. Brilliant, brilliant man. Geneticist by training, and even more importantly, a huge advocate for our natural world.

    5. Toilet paper – over or under? Depends on the dispenser? Usually over.

    6. Name one thing in your life that you would do over if possible. I would have gone through to be a veterinarian.

    7. Tell about your pets – if any. Boo, the tiny black kitty, and Sadie, our mammoth Australian Shepherd. Boo was a normal shelter adoption as a 7 week old ball of black fluff, and Sadie was a rescue that we got when I was 5 months pregnant with Wee One – Sadie was 4 years old at the time. We’re her 5th and final family.

    8. Do you live in a small town or a large town. (You don’t have to name the town.) Medium-and-growing-fast Town.

Now to tag my 8 victims…

Tagged? All you need to do is exactly what I did here – post this on your own blog, modifying the answers of course, and whatever else you see fit (don’t curse me!) and then link back to me and let me know so I can enjoy your answers too.

Don’t hate me.
