Well, this layout is better than the fish, but I’m still not sold on it. I mean, does it scream “JENN’S BLOG” to you? Meh. It’ll do for now. I mostly don’t like the way it won’t handle the larger pictures. I’ll fix it later when I have time.
Cannot believe we’re already *9* days into January, and 2011. Life is whizzing past us, folks! What amazing plans do you have for yourselves this year?
Me? I’m continuing on with Jenn 2.0 (aka “the reinvention of Jenn”), getting healthier, taking care of myself, and stuff like that. Growing my businesses (may have just picked up a new contract I’m rather excited about)… and looking at some property for a possible move at some point.
I was looking at the Feedjit feed a little while ago – I peek at it now and then, but don’t watch it too closely – and chuckled when I saw that people actually have direct links to one of my old posts now, and still come on a daily basis from google searches… on the differences between sweet potatoes and yams, of all things. It’s actually one of the most popular posts I’ve ever had, which ticks me off considering it was one of the first ones I ever did, and not one I’d consider all that fabulous. Sheesh. Granted, I don’t write with the thought of getting a huge influx of visitors here. That’s not what I’m about… but really. Sweet potatoes? Is that as interesting as I get?
The Teen just told me a joke…
Can February March?
No, but April May…
She’s 16, and telling clean jokes? I’m so proud! :D
The gang and I get together this week to have our first admin meeting of the year, and go over the music library database that I put together over the holidays. It’s pretty impressive if I do say so myself! We have close to 400 pieces of music now, and growing. Exciting stuff! Speaking of which, are you on Facebook? If you are, have you “liked” the Main Street page? We’d really love it if you did!!
In case you were wondering, I was definitely back to my old self once school resumed last week. The eye twitch went away, and suddenly I was happy to see my kids again, getting off their school buses! No bottles of wine were harmed in the process, either. It’s been a grand week!
That’s about all I can think of to catch you up on today. I’m still a bit annoyed over the template mess-up, but I can live with this one until I have some quality time to spend on redesign. I like the colours, and it is definitely a more striking look than the one I used before. (not the fish… that was just silly)
Looking forward to your haikus on Wednesday! The theme is “Doldrums”. Present day definition is “stagnant, bored, without energy, etc.” Always happens to me after the hustle and bustle of the holidays, and (I believe) it is closely related to Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). Not so bad this year though, so far. How about you..?
I like the colors, too. They’re soothing….
And, being from the south, sweet potatoes are a pretty big deal :) It is interesting that it’s such a popular post.
I’m wallowing in a bit of doldrums this weekend. I haven’t accomplished much at all. I hope the week generates some energy! Uh oh! I just had an idea for my haiku, gotta dash!
And thanks for hosting the haiku fest. It’s great mental exercise!
Great. see what you’ve done. Now I am thinking about changing my blog design! Not blue though.
I like this format, I agree it is much more restful, though I did like the fish, maybe because I’m Pisces ;O)
I have my haiku all scheduled to post for Wednesday. I learned stuff i didn’t know researching Doldrums! I didn’t know they actually existed for one thing. :O)
