The basics:
Haiku is simple! It is 3 non-rhyming lines of 5, 7, and 5 syllables respectively (a great way to use your fingers!)

We did not decorate or buy presents this year (no kids to worry about). Instead we opted to focus on the meaning of the season, so we have had no “aftermath”. Believe it or not, it was incredibly peaceful and pleasant — one of the best Christmases I have enjoyed in years.
This is the last Silly Haiku of 2009! It has been fun. Here’s to a fun run next year!
Sigh. Missed it today.
Not a haiku day for me.

Can you believe I totally forgot yesterday was Wednesday! I’m in such a holiday mood – better late than never right? I’ve still got last weeks haiku’s to catch up on, but now I’m getting ready to party, I’ll get back to everyone soon. Have a great hogmanay Jenn!
