Sensational Haiku Wednesday

Welcome to “Sensational Haiku Wednesday!”

Click here for info and background on this weekly event!

The basics:

Haiku is simple! It is 3 non-rhyming lines of 5, 7, and 5 syllables respectively (a great way to use your fingers!)

This week’s theme is: Freestyle – whatever you want to write about

    So many changes
Hold on to what is most dear
    Move on from the rest

All this smut TV
“Reality”? Oh hell no!
Worry for the kids

    Too many pet peeves
    I’m moving to an island!
    (with my internet..?)

Time to shake it up
Live well, get rid of the chaff
Get up and do it!

Folks, a quick note about comments: I do visit everyone, but a few of you don’t have Name/URL enabled on your blogs, and I CAN’T comment in that case. Take a moment to enable that, will you? There are other ways to combat spam and still allow people with their own domains to leave their homage to your greatness ;)

Next week’s theme: Wish(es)

Note: Nothing makes me happier than to see new people getting “hooked on haiku”! Keep it going to make it to the Hooked on Haiku List (if you’re not listed and should be, please let me know!)

To participate in this week’s event, please use the following code in your post on your own blog (if you don’t have a blog, post your Haiku as a comment):

My mom knew when I was a kid that she couldn’t save me from bad TV…so we watched it together and discussed everything that was wrong with it! lol

Thanks for hosting…I hope to get back to participating regularly! (I know I say it a lot but I have a plan this time!)

  2. Morning!
A nice mix of haikus today, I agree it would be good to live on an island but I would still need to take the internet. Then you could switch on and off as you wanted!

Hope everything is going well, sorry I’ve not been around much, still reading though but in bursts!

  3. Madeleine says:

The pet peeves one made me chuckle :O)

  4. Wherever I go, I take my laptop. ‘Fraid I couldn’t do without it, not even on a remote island!

  5. Tigerbrite says:

I have posted ‘Summer’ because of the beautiful picture I’d like to share with you. It was used by Magpie for this week’s prompt.

  6. Melissa B. says:

    Some day I’ll figure
    out when I’m supposed post
    “sensational” verse.

    I do love the fact
that you’ve got this forum here.
    Creative minds gel.

  7. I have not post yet but wanted to know way I am not on the hooked on haiku list. Unless I am ill I post all the time.

      Hi Melanie,

That’s why I have the “if you’re not on it and should be, let me know” :) I usually notice when someone posts 3 times in a row, but sometimes it gets by me. Thanks for letting me know, I’ll get you added.

Forgive me … this has been a frenetic couple of weeks … I write my Haiku and then forget to link … add to that, age kicking in. ;)

    • Jenn says:

No problem. Sorry for your friend’s loss – I would love to leave a comment on your blog but you don’t have name/url enabled so I can’t :(

  11. Great Prompt. Thanks…

    Melanie

  12. The Linky from last week is still open, even though it’s almost time for a new prompt? I’m SHOCKED!!! :-)

  13. Broot says:

    A sick little girl
means I haven’t done my haiku.
    I am sorry, Jenn.

    I feel snowed under
with all the work that isn’t done
    time to throw it out.
