Sensational Haiku Wednesday

Welcome to “Sensational Haiku Wednesday!”

Click here for info and background on this weekly event!

The basics:

Haiku is simple! It is 3 non-rhyming lines of 5, 7, and 5 syllables respectively (a great way to use your fingers!)

This week’s theme is: Karma

My submission for this week:

Think twice, think again.
What goes around, comes around…
Karma’s a real pain.

Next week’s theme: Ego

Note: Nothing makes me happier than to see new people getting “hooked on haiku”! Keep it going to make it to the Hooked on Haiku List

To participate in this week’s event, please use the following code in your post on your own blog (if you don’t have a blog, post your Haiku as a comment):

    Not sure whether I’m first or not…doesn’t really matter. But I’m here and I found ‘Karma’ quite difficult to work into a Haiku. Karma seems to cover so many aspects or the destiny of one’s life; the affect of one’s physical presence and spiritual essence in the social network of civilization. It just boggles my mind. Anyway for what it’s worth the following are my anemic Haiku on Karma.

    Would this be Karma?
    What comes around goes around?
    Better be kind then.

    But should it matter?
    Does it make a difference?
    Yes! Absolutely!

    Always seek the good
    This gives rise to good Karma.
    And better for life.

    Life should be enjoyed;
    Among family and good friends.
    Savoured together!

    The very brightest light,
    Invisible though it be,
    Shines through your good deeds.

    Charitable Acts,
    Nobly done without fanfare.
    Are innate Karma.

    I love this challenge.
    This Haiku game with ShaMoo;
    Is that bad Karma?

    My Prayer to you all,
    Though I will try to be first,
    To yourselves be true.

    See! I have nice thoughts.
    And trust they do help her win.
    It’s all in timing.

    And I wish her well.
    Thought’s like that are Karma thoughts.
    Good thoughts; good Karma.

    Wishing To be first;
    To beat her to the Blog site;
    My Karma has sunk.

    But I want to win!
    Really want to beat her!
    Dire Karma induced?

    These are just ramblin’s;
    Some wishful thoughts gone amuck.
    My Karma on hold!

      Knarf: Holy cow, you have been busy! And, here you are first again this week. All is well in your world again now, eh my friend? Congrats on these! J-B

    • Jenn says:

      Wow Knarf… more and more lately you’re writing about ShaMoo and beating her to the finish line! You’re going to give her a complex or something ;)

      Well done!

    • ShaMoo says:

      Look at you…pulling back into first place and blowing us out of the water again with a million submissions!!! Jenn, I already have a complex, thankyouverymuch :)

    One reaps what one sows. Every religion has the theme in it somewhere, which makes it a universal truth.

    Some measly lines offered for Week 46, and for “Karma”. It was to be expected (“fate”?) that the J-B would run out of steam, so these are quite tame this week. Please enjoy, and see you all back here for “Ego” week! Cheers, J-B

    Could it be but luck?
    Did the stars align one night?
    Beautiful music . . . .

    Believe in Karma?
    That destiny is pre-ordained?
    Could be: and it’s grand!

    What’s our destiny?
    Is the road smooth?; bumpy?; both?
    I believe in us!

    Inevitable.
    That’s fate; that’s Karma; that’s great.
    We were meant to be!

  4. Funny how again our tones are so different…Always fun ~ thanks :D
