Sensational Haiku Wednesday

Welcome to “Sensational Haiku Wednesday!”

Click here for info and background on this weekly event!

The basics:

Haiku is simple! It is 3 non-rhyming lines of 5, 7, and 5 syllables respectively (a great way to use your fingers!)

This week’s theme is: Numbers

    Fine expensive wine
    Silver, laugh lines, a twinkle
    Age is relative

J-B; Silver Fox
Well loved, well lived, wonderful
Earned every great thing

    Celebrating you
Don’t fight me, know I will win
    You ARE a smart man!

Happy Birthday, love
Numbers mean nothing you know
You’re still young at heart

Happy Birthday to J-B (Actually it’s September 13, but before our next haiku)!

He hates acknowledging his birthday every year, and yet I feel the need to celebrate him. He has learned to live with it, I think. It’s not like I give him a choice, really, although I met him half-way and didn’t throw him a party… this time. The men in my life have come to realize that I generally get what I want :) Besides, when you find a friend as great as he is, it’s pretty much impossible to ignore important moments in their lives, and I can’t bring myself to do it. Lest he get a swelled head, however, he is truly one of the most stubborn men I’ve ever met, too. Nonetheless, J-B is one of a kind, and I adore him. That’s all there is to it, really.

Happy 60th Birthday, J-B!

Folks, a quick note about comments: A few of you don’t have Name/URL enabled on your blogs, and I CAN’T comment in that case. Take a moment to enable that, will you? There are other ways to combat spam and still allow people with their own domains to leave their homage to your greatness ;)

Next week’s theme: Freestyle (anything)

Note: Nothing makes me happier than to see new people getting “hooked on haiku”! Keep it going to make it to the Hooked on Haiku List (if you’re not listed and should be, please [politely] let me know!)

A real man…

Written By: Jenn - Sep• 03•11

A real man is a woman’s best friend.

He will never let her down.

He will comfort her after a bad day.

He will inspire her to do things she never thought she could do.

He will enable her to express her deepest emotions.

He will enable her to be confident, sexy, seductive and invincible…

No, wait. Sorry. I’m thinking of wine. It’s wine that does all that. Never mind.

I keep getting this sent to me (minus the pictures, which I stole from found on google…) and I love it, so thought I’d share!

Have a great long weekend!

This week’s theme is: School

    Long, lengthy summer
    Bored kids, hard working parents
    Cannot wait for school!

Work hard and study
Future so bright, so open
But it’s not easy

    Meet new friends, teacher
    Shy, awkward moments will pass
    Enjoy special time

Dancing parents laugh
Wave at ticked offspring, rejoice
House is ours again!

Next week’s theme: Numbers In celebration of a milestone birthday!
