Welcome to “Silly Haiku Wednesday!”
Click here for info and background on this weekly event!
The basics:
Haiku is simple! It is 3 non-rhyming lines of 5, 7, and 5 syllables respectively (a great way to use your fingers!)
This week’s theme is: Spirit of Giving
My submission for this week:
Commercial nonsense!
Focus on the family,
Not on the price tag.
Next week’s theme: Guilty Pleasure?
Congratulations to our winner of last week’s Challenge, Chanda, the Eco Cheap Mom, who will be guest posting here on December 20th!
Last week’s challenge did not have dramatic results, but we did pick up a few new players, and we will do it again for sure. Feel free to continue challenging your own visitors though – we’re having far too much fun not to share!
Note: Nothing makes me happier than to see new people getting “hooked on haiku”! Keep it going to make it to the Hooked on Haiku List
To participate in this week’s event, please use the following code in your post on your own blog (if you don’t have a blog, post your Haiku as a comment):
I am still a chicken and I still love your Haiku!

Wonderful haiku! This was a fun one to do! Guilty pleasure for next week, hmmmm. I’ll have to mull that one over.

Love the focus on family, Jenn.
The only link to a current haiku I’ve reached through Mr. Linky is Thom’s…no Haiku on Nessa and an old one on 5th sister. I’m a bit mystified…
.-= southlakesmom´s last blog ..Spirit of Giving =-.
Hey there!
I noticed that too, and fixed the links – 5th Sister had a cached link to an old post, which I updated, and Nessa didn’t have her haiku up yet, so when she does, she’s welcome to re-link. Avoids confusion if we post before linking, yes? ;)
Hey I commented here before, where did it go? Hmm maybe I wrote a comment to you on someone else’s site, that could be embarassing!
Anyway I think it went something like this, I like you Haiku and agree focussing on family and friends is the best way to go. Hope you have lots of fun things planned with your family over the holidays.

So glad you’re back, Steph! We missed you!
Absolutely perfect, not just a great Haiku but we should take it as good advice!

I love your Haiku!!! Very True!
This is my first time visiting your blog… Love it!

I am a salty old dog and nice people probably won’t like my offering. It has cussing in it–just like a lot of what comes out of my mouth. It isn’t a true haiku, I suppose. But it does have three lines. Anybody who wants to read it is welcome to.
Hi Lily,
Yep, a bit too salty for my family-oriented blog…
Awesome Haiku! I could not agree more.

I did one today, but it doesn’t match your theme. Oh well! I still did a Haiku!
