Welcome to “Sensational Haiku Wednesday!”

The basics:

Haiku is simple! It is 3 non-rhyming lines of 5, 7, and 5 syllables respectively (a great way to use your fingers!)

This week’s theme is: Hope

    Belief in one’s self
    Defense of friends and loved ones
    Hope for the future

      Oppression and hate
      Self fulfilling prophecy
      Coward. Let it go.

    Clarity of thought
    Misdirected emotion
    Redirect a life

      Uncertain future
      Hope to see enlightenment
      Brave the path. Live strong.

Folks, a quick note about comments: I do visit everyone, but a few of you don’t have Name/URL enabled on your blogs, and I CAN’T comment in that case (and prefer not to have to email). Take a moment to enable that, will you? There are other ways to combat spam and still allow people with their own domains to leave their homage to your greatness ;)

    Thanks so much for inspiring my Hoping For Humor. Not only did I write a hopeful haiku, but I also wrote two hope-related quatrains and a limerick. Thanks again! :)

    More lovely, deep haiku this week, Jenn. I love them all but particularly the third one. Misdirection and redirection is the perfect description.

    I hope that I can get my ducks in a row and sort out what day of the week it is in time to play next week. I am always running behind and never seem to catch up!

    I like your first haiku — it is, indeed, full of hope.
