Sensational Haiku Wednesday

Welcome to “Sensational Haiku Wednesday!”

Click here for info and background on this weekly event!

The basics:

Haiku is simple! It is 3 non-rhyming lines of 5, 7, and 5 syllables respectively (a great way to use your fingers!)

This week’s theme is: Shoes

      Are they for walking?
Or for dancing in the dark…
      Mine? For kicking ass.

      High heels; so sexy
How much trouble can I stir…
      Think I’m tall enough!

      The best are worn in
      Shaped so perfectly to me
      My comfy old friends.

Next week’s theme: Pathways

Note: Nothing makes me happier than to see new people getting “hooked on haiku”! Keep it going to make it to the Hooked on Haiku List

Ooo I love that kicking some ass. WOOT. Good ones :). As long as they aren’t old. Wanna make it a good feel. LOL

  2. quilly says:

The truth is, the best shoes are no shoes at all! My toes like to be free — but if they have to be in shoes, worn in ones are indeed the very best!

  3. I think I could use some of your ass-kicking shoes on several of my students (but don’t tell anyone!).

    Shoes for Stones?

  4. Michelle says:

Love it that you kick ass (of course you do!)

Personally, I’m like quilly….like my feet to be free, but since I don’t stay in the house, shoes I must wear and they MUST be comfortable!

  5. Victoria says:

Fun poem, Jenn. There’s a point in life where comfort supercedes beauty. I love tennis shoes…

  6. PinkLady says:

high heels are actually deadly weapons in disguise. that’s why i love them! :D

  7. ShaMoo says:

Oh boy, did I have fun with this one!! Love your haiku, Jenn!! There’s nothing quite as comforting as a good pair of worn-in shoes :)

  8. jb says:

Greetings, my Haiku friends! Wondered whether I’d find inspiration for a “shoes” topic, but got some…

  9. jazzbumpa says:

    These shoes, those shoes, they’re
Worn in, worn out, worn down – all
    God’s children got shoes.

    Cheers!

I used to work with teenage boys…advice: Watch the shoes!

  11. Cathy S. says:

    Made me remember
    Black patent t-straps, long gone.
    Wish I had them back!

    Why can’t style make peace
    With foot-shaped shoes? This woman’s
    Feet, and soul, would cheer!

  12. Sorry, I’m all over the place this week, then there was that Facebook hack – lol!

I had my haiku posted yesterday and never got the chance to link up, afer the hack I was a bit scared to log in to anything in Mexico! Also I posted last week’s topic instead – d’oh. Hopefully I’ll be back on track for next time.

Love your haikus, wish I had some comfy shoes to wear to work this week, I seem to have packed some uncomfortable options!

  13. Amanda says:

Mine can’t kick butt I am way too short! I do however have a love affair with the old worn ones… love the way they feel!

  14. Madeleine says:

I love weekly challenges. Great Haiku. So much said with so few words. Hope you enjoy mine.:O)

  15. Melissa B. says:

I’m usually in the ass-kicking mode. But not today. I took the whole week off!
