Welcome to “Sensational Haiku Wednesday!”
Click here for info and background on this weekly event!
The basics:
Haiku is simple! It is 3 non-rhyming lines of 5, 7, and 5 syllables respectively (a great way to use your fingers!)
This week’s theme is: Meditate
Quieting the brain
Awaiting slumber; darkness
Holy crap! The blog!Instantly awake
Race to the office, flick switch
Just have enough time
Quieting again
Allow psyche inner peace
(Relief!) MeditateSaved today’s haiku!
Time to destress, meditate
Vacation needed
Folks, a quick note about comments: A few of you don’t have Name/URL enabled on your blogs, and I CAN’T comment in that case. Take a moment to enable that, will you? There are other ways to combat spam and still allow people with their own domains to leave their homage to your greatness ;)
Next week’s theme: Ponder
Note: Nothing makes me happier than to see new people getting “hooked on haiku”! Keep it going to make it to the Hooked on Haiku List (if you’re not listed and should be, please [politely] let me know!)
To participate in this week’s event, please use the following code in your post on your own blog (if you don’t have a blog, post your Haiku as a comment):
I literally finished and hit save less than 2 minutes ago! …and now I’m REALLY going to bed. Good night, Haiku-ers!
Jenn…Loved Your Haikus
Top Notch as always
Thanks for hosting…G
You always do such a great job. I feel a little bad going sillytastic this week…but it’s the first thing that popped into my mind about the theme and I had to go with it. And might have to rewatch Grease this weekend. ;)
I haven’t even read yours yet but I know EXACTLY what you’re talking about!!!
Loved your haiku’s this week, full of humour. :O)
Okay I’m in.
Know the feeling in your haikus very well. Well written!
Great haikus! I really know how that feels. Sigh. I need to destress right now. Take me with you on vacation ;). Thanks for hosting again.
This week it’s “meditate,” and next week “ponder.” Looks like you’re developing a theme again. What’s coming in the weeks ahead? “Ruminate”? “Contemplate”? “Daydream”? Or perhaps “woolgather”? Can’t wait to see!
Sweetheart, I had 5 minutes to do the whole thing – it was all I could come up with! ;)
Mine is up for this one!! I think I need to destress too!! Burning too much of that midnight oil!! :)
Hello again, Another haiku wednesday this time meditate as prompt. Not an easy one, but I will give it a try.
I find that contemplating haiku is meditative itself. The rhythm of the words can calm the mind like the sun’s warmth.
I like what you say about the rhythm of the words having a calming effect. Excellent observation!
I hope I’m not too late as I just found this web site an hour ago and so had to try it! But I think I submitted my haiku twice. It has only been recently that I have been writing them (in groups if that is allowed?). Thank you.
I hope I am not too late to post this. Thank you.
This cracked me up! So familiar!
silly haiku artist!
Thanks as always for your wonderful prompts…Love your haiku..thank you for all you do to inspire us on Wednesday
thank you for the wonderful prompt. I like it very much. Have a wonderful week.
Hi, I posted a comment just now, but I’m not sure if it went through. I don’t want to post the same comment twice. I just want to say that it’s a wonderful prompt. Thank you and have a wonderful week.
