Welcome to “Sensational Haiku Wednesday!”
Click here for info and background on this weekly event!
The basics:
Haiku is simple! It is 3 non-rhyming lines of 5, 7, and 5 syllables respectively (a great way to use your fingers!)
This week’s theme is: Anticipation
Quivering fingers
Eyes widen, breath quickens, pause
Anticipation
Fluttering heart strings
Longing to stretch out and touch
Yet just out of reach
In the horizon
So small, drawing slowly near
That which makes your worldLeather, sleek, softness
Inhaling heady tannins
Truly love shopping! ;)
(Wow, what were you guys thinking??)
Folks, a quick note about comments: A few of you don’t have Name/URL enabled on your blogs, and I CAN’T comment in that case. Take a moment to enable that, will you? There are other ways to combat spam and still allow people with their own domains to leave their homage to your greatness ;)
Next week’s theme: Dare
Note: Nothing makes me happier than to see new people getting “hooked on haiku”! Keep it going to make it to the Hooked on Haiku List (if you’re not listed and should be, please [politely] let me know!)
To participate in this week’s event, please use the following code in your post on your own blog (if you don’t have a blog, post your Haiku as a comment):
You are a Romantic…Wow!

Going on a plane

Hello, I am joining in for the first time. Looking forward to enjoying haiku more and more.
I dare all of us to write haiku with the theme ????? next week! :-)
DRAT!!!!!!!! Did it again. This will teach me to write things weeks in advance and not triple check them. But you gave me the theme for next week, anyway ;)
Lovely. Here is mine: Anticipation
Now that’s the kind of “anticipation” I could, ahem, fit into. Hee hee…love that leather and with Autumn banging at the door, it won’t be much time until I can bring out my beloved fall/winter clothing!
I missed you guys…I’ll try to participate more.
We missed you too, Polly! Welcome back! :)
in the words of betty and wilma, “chaaaaaarge it!!!”
great haikus =)
love your haiku, Jenn ~ the last one gave me a giggle. ;-D
Wow…impressive. I could never muster enough emotion to write a haiku about shopping! But thanks for letting me participate anyway!!
Yes, my mind went to the gutter…
Mine is work related..One truck, Mon, wed, fri – only happiness there lately.
My mind went to chocolate :)
My mind ALWAYS goes to chocolate. That’s probably why I didn’t post until Saturday, LOL. Damn that Cadbury guy!! Amy
Excellent haiku Bravo Jenn!
Love the word ‘anticipation’ uses up 5 syllables all in one go!
A day late and too busy. I hate when an entire month is taken up with traveling! Sure takes away my ‘play time’!
I couldn’t come up with a quivering, fluttering in my Haiku. I like yours! Have a great week.
That was a good one…didn’t think you would be referring to shopping !
Rosie
At last I’m done and dead beat too!!! I like Magical Mystical Teacher’s dare with the theme ?????!! :) Would be interesting sometime!!
I dislike shopping, but I still liked your haiku :)
Finally got around to posting my Weds. haiku on Saturday. Busy week! Peace to all, Amy
As you can see, Jenn, I rose to the occasion! :-)
I don’t know how I managed to link this morning when the widget expired 31 hours ago, but I’m not going to argue! :-)
