Welcome to “Sensational Haiku Wednesday!”
Click here for info and background on this weekly event!
The basics:
Haiku is simple! It is 3 non-rhyming lines of 5, 7, and 5 syllables respectively (a great way to use your fingers!)
This week’s theme is: Waves
Making waves is fun…
You never know the outcome
Until it’s too late.
Note: I’m sitting in a Starbucks right now drinking an overpriced, fat and sugar laden iced chai tea latte because my ISP is down YET AGAIN and this is the closest place with internet access that doesn’t feel like stalking (remember last week? I hear he’s thinking about getting a guard dog and electric fence to keep me at bay). I can’t stay too long so I apologize if I am tardy visiting your brilliant haiku today. I will get there, I promise.
By the way, today’s word is brought to you by J-B (it was almost cauliflower – he doesn’t like to be put on the spot) and next week’s word is courtesy of ShaMoo (she says “you’re welcome” to the ladies, who will find that one a breeze!)
Next week’s theme: Shoes!
Note: Nothing makes me happier than to see new people getting “hooked on haiku”! Keep it going to make it to the Hooked on Haiku List
To participate in this week’s event, please use the following code in your post on your own blog (if you don’t have a blog, post your Haiku as a comment):
Love this one, Jenn….you need to give that little iPhone some love for getting it done right! Nice :)
Once I figured it out it was pretty easy – a few limitations, and trying to schedule it crashed the WP app, but otherwise it was pretty good! Even better that I did it whilst we were singing! I am a multi-tasking MACHINE!
you might as well enjoy the waves and then worry about the outcome later. ;) let’s just enjoy life. have a great day, jenn.
happy haiku-ing to everyone!
And I tell ya. Some are real good at that. Present company excluded of course. I really liked this. Well done. :)
I like to make waves. Just playful little ones, not big, nasty swampers!
Ha! Making waves can be fun!
Do I hear a twinge of regret in the last line of your haiku this morning, Jenn?
There may be a ripple or two that I regret causing… :)
“Making waves”, eh Jenn? Not that you have any experience in that area . . . ;)
Nice haiku!
I’m sure I don’t know what you’re talking about, love ;)
So many kinds of waves….and poets love making waves, don’t we?
This is my first attempt at this form of poetry.
Ain’t that the truth!
I love waves at the beach, not so much at the airport… :)
Cauliflower? Wow I am glad for the waves theme!Tis true BTW you never do know til it is too late!
The world aspires
To loveliness and knowledge.
Rough waves always come.
