Welcome to “Silly Haiku Wednesday!”
Click here for info and background on this weekly event!
The basics:
Haiku is simple! It is 3 non-rhyming lines of 5, 7, and 5 syllables respectively (a great way to use your fingers!)
This week’s theme is: Separation – your choice of context.
My silly submission for this week:
Feel it in my heart
My arms ache to hold you close
Child too far away.
Of course this refers, in my case, to the Teen, who has been away for summer training camp for over 5 weeks now. She will be home this coming Saturday, and I cannot wait!
Next week’s theme: Appreciation – again, your choice of context.
Note: Nothing makes me happier than to see new people getting “hooked on haiku”! Keep it going to make it to the “Hooked on Haiku List“
To participate in this week’s event, please use the following code in your post on your own blog (if you don’t have a blog, post your Haiku as a comment):

When I’m far away
Something reminds me of you
Then I laugh or smile

Love and longing… I feel it! Very nice one :D
I miss them so much
My family is so far
Phone is not enough…
Okay, see?? THIS is why I don’t do Haiku!! Go ahead, laugh….just try! Sigh….back to parenting I go :)
I’m so proud of you! That was a great one, and quit selling yourself short, woman!
Today’s topic really is uncanny for me, but thanks for the encouragement. I think this helped a little :)

Back again, Jenn! I think I went in a different direction than many of your followers . . . .
And hey! Check out this haiku in a blog post by a friend of mine (along with the comments); your influence spreads slowly but surely across the World Wide Web!

Liz – thanks for the link! I love that one that Deacon Emil left – it is exactly what I’m trying to accomplish here. How wonderful!
I decided once again to go for “not so serious” because it would have been way too sad otherwise.
