Sensational Haiku Wednesday

Sensational Haiku Wednesday

Welcome to “Sensational Haiku Wednesday!”

Click here for info and background on this weekly event!

The basics:

Haiku is simple! It is 3 non-rhyming lines of 5, 7, and 5 syllables respectively (a great way to use your fingers!)

As of February 3, 2010, Silly Haiku Wednesday became “Sensational Haiku Wednesday”. Please adjust bookmarks and blog posts accordingly!

This week’s theme is: Generosity

My submission for this week:

There for me, always
Selfless, generous, true blue
Ever in my heart.

And because I totally forgot what day it was going to be when I chose the theme for the week…

Green, yet full of fire
A spirited lust for life
Well… I AM Irish…

Next week’s theme: Dreams

Note: Nothing makes me happier than to see new people getting “hooked on haiku”! Keep it going to make it to the Hooked on Haiku List

To participate in this week’s event, please use the following code in your post on your own blog (if you don’t have a blog, post your Haiku as a comment):

Sneak peek, and Weekend Funnies

Written By: Jenn - Mar• 14•10

For the next installment on my “An Interview With…” series, I’m featuring a very very special… Group. Look for that on Sunday, March 21st. This interview will reveal a few things about me in their words… ACK, and about these 3 very special people in my life.

I am very excited about this interview, and even more so because it takes a lot for these three wonderful people to pour their hearts out to complete strangers! You and I both know they’re doing it simply because they love me, and I’m sure my readers will share the love too!

My bloggy/haiku friend Shakira has started her own meme! It’s called “Weekend Funnies” and all you need to do is post something funny to share. Seems simple enough! I’m catching the tail-end of it this time, since I was AFK* a lot last week and didn’t have time to prepare anything for it. I’ll try to do better next time!

Now I lay me down to sleep,
I pray my sanity I keep.
For if some peace I do not find,
I’m pretty sure I’ll lose my mind.

I pray I find a little quiet,
Far from the daily family riot.
May I lie back and not have to think
About what they’re stuffing down the sink,

Or who they’re with, or where they’re at
And what they’re doing to the cat.
I pray for time all to myself
(did something just fall off a shelf?)

To cuddle in my nice, soft bed
(Oh no, another goldfish–dead!)
Some silent moments for goodness sake
(Did I just hear a window break?)

And that I need not cook or clean
(well heck, I’ve got the right to dream)
Yes now I lay me down to sleep,
I pray my wits about me keep,
But as I look around I know,
I must have lost them long ago!

6 Word Saturday

Written By: Jenn - Mar• 13•10

Buddy, don’t call me Pal, OK?

I have a “thing” about being called Buddy, or Pal. For me it’s along the same lines as saying Jerk. Long story. It came up this week, so I’m using it today.

Besides the obvious Jenn, I also answer to Sweetheart, Darling, Babe, and, of course, Your Majesty. Just sayin’.

P.S. 6WS visitors – thanks for stopping by! I will return the visit, but can only leave a comment if you have Name/URL enabled on your blog…
