Sing it with me now!
No really, I’m dizzy. I’ve been dizzy for over a week, and it’s driving me nuts. I feel fine otherwise. Especially, y’know, when the room isn’t doing loop-de-loops.
Yeah yeah, I know – “go to the doctor, you ditz”. I have a feeling it’s an inner ear thing (vertigo), which I’ve had before… maybe 20 years ago. Took weeks to get past it the first time!
My thinking is that if I ignore it, it’ll go away. That’s logical… right? Right??
Quit it with the spinning!
Update: Hubby took me to the walk-in clinic about an hour ago, and the doctor there confirmed that it was vertigo (my BP was perfect, as always) Doctor found it really funny that I almost fell off the exam table when he asked me to sit up, and gave me a prescription. Jackass.
I find vertigo kind of evens me out.
Well I’ll be damned you did go to the doctor. Something new and different. Rock on Tommy Roe. Sing one for Jenn!!!!
good thing your husband talked some sense into you and took you to the clinic ;-) Hope you’ve gotten some vertigo relief. I can’t imagine you’d be able to do much in that condition…
Oh he didn’t – I said “Get dressed, we’re going to the clinic.” Only because it got so bad that I was getting nervous… being dizzy is just soooo icky. Really hate it.
When I had vertigo I was given a prescription for Antivert. I took the script to the pharmacist and he began explaining the side-effects to me — one of which is dizziness. I said, “What, doe it make the room spin the other way so it evens things out?” The pharmacist told me if I wasn’t going to take the warnings seriously, he wouldn’t fill the script. How can one take something like that seriously?
A pharmacist without a sense of humour? – novel :P Yeah Antivert was what I was on the first time, years ago. Now I’m on “Serc”, which is actually used more for tinnitus and Ménière’s disease (an inner ear disorder which has dizziness as a symptom). So far so good – I’ve taken 3 since yesterday and feel somewhat less dizzy. I’m also doing Epley BPPV exercises which are supposed to be phenomenal for this. We’ll see! The bed didn’t try to pitch me off this morning, so that’s a good thing!
I’m glad to read that things are better, Jenn. Hopefully the dizziness will go away for good very soon.
awww poor you!! Hope it sorts out quick. I hate that feeling.
Do they prescribe any good drugs for vertigo? My answer depends on yours.
haha, how do I even answer that… ;) Wait… you´re a doctor, you already know the answer to that one!
Hope you’re feeling a bit more stable now, dizzy is not fun. Some of my family had labyrinthitis a few years ago.
