Sensational Haiku Wednesday

Welcome to “Sensational Haiku Wednesday!”

Click here for info and background on this weekly event!

The basics:

Haiku is simple! It is 3 non-rhyming lines of 5, 7, and 5 syllables respectively (a great way to use your fingers!)

This week’s theme is: Addiction

    Haiku addiction
    Not a difficult problem
    Just use your fingers!

Do you know the date
That we have one hundred weeks?
May 25th… Wooot!!

    Our constant laughter
So much a part of my life
    Miss you, Addiction :)

Is it always bad?
Addiction can be happy
For the lucky few

Folks, a quick note about comments: I do visit everyone (usually a day or so after due to my schedule), but a few of you don’t have Name/URL enabled on your blogs, and I CAN’T comment in that case (and prefer not to have to email). Take a moment to enable that, will you? There are other ways to combat spam and still allow people with their own domains to leave their homage to your greatness ;)

Next week’s theme: Spontaneity (don’t you love it when I give you a 5 syllable word??)

Note: Nothing makes me happier than to see new people getting “hooked on haiku”! Keep it going to make it to the Hooked on Haiku List

To participate in this week’s event, please use the following code in your post on your own blog (if you don’t have a blog, post your Haiku as a comment):

Hey Jenn, I saw the Hooked on Haiku list, my name is repeated twice :) once as Leo and once as Vinay (Leo). You can remove the latter, I’m back to my pen name itself. Cheers!

Well you have the 2 blogs, so I’m ok leaving you in there as both :) You’re not the only one, actually!

      • Leo says:

        Oh ok! No probs! :)

I thought SHW ended on Thursday night sometime, so I included addicted to the new haiku/senryu I tried today.

Since linky is closed, I thought I’d share the link anyways :)

        Unhealed Haiku/Senryu

I had more time to myself this week – the only reason I’ve been closing it really late the last while is because I’ve been too busy to get to it. Plus I know it makes one Haiku-er really happy to be able to post last minute stuff ;) I could set it to close automagically at a specific time, but I like to do it when I’m fairly certain we’re all on board :)

Will be back if I can think of an Addition poem. Like I can’t write on that topic… anyway… Amy

  8. OK, amended post to include an addiction poem. Man, what a morning!

So true. Addiction sometimes has a negative connotation for the most part, and your writing brings to light the positive aspects in a humorous, loving way. Getting addicted to hobbies is a fantastic way to stay sane. Everything in moderation, easier said then done.

Another great post. Another great week ahead to you!

  10. Haiku hankering
    mixed with lim’rick addiction —
    housework haitus.

My latest latest Limerick-Off challenge is here.

  11. Sorry about the spelling — that should be “hiatus” – just like “haiku,” except reversed. :)

  12. Love your haikus – especially the beautiful feeling in the 2nd last one!
