Welcome to “Sensational Haiku Wednesday!”
Click here for info and background on this weekly event!
The basics:
Haiku is simple! It is 3 non-rhyming lines of 5, 7, and 5 syllables respectively (a great way to use your fingers!)
This week’s theme is: Habits
A pointless effort
Such a hard habit to break
Yet broken it isThings that are no good
Yet return again… again
Once more for comfortOur Tuesday meetings…
Pints, wings, nachos and laughter
Happiness making
Folks, a quick note about comments: I do visit everyone, but a few of you don’t have Name/URL enabled on your blogs, and I CAN’T comment in that case (and prefer not to have to email). Take a moment to enable that, will you? There are other ways to combat spam and still allow people with their own domains to leave their homage to your greatness ;)
Next week’s theme: Freestyle
Note: Nothing makes me happier than to see new people getting “hooked on haiku”! Keep it going to make it to the Hooked on Haiku List
To participate in this week’s event, please use the following code in your post on your own blog (if you don’t have a blog, post your Haiku as a comment):
I really enjoyed writing on this topic. next week’s topic is very, very interesting :)
I love that you have an upbeat haiku at the end. Excellent all 3 :O)
Must confess here that my old habit of reading the newspaper with my morning cup of coffee is hard to die!!
I have become such a slave to it :D that it is hard to down the coffee on days that there are no newspapers. Makes me wonder if it is a good habit or a bad one :D
“Pints, wings, nachos and laughter”
surely would like to develop that one :D
I can’t read the paper without a cup of coffee – so I guess we’re in opposite boats. I couldn’t reply to your post – but I love your hummingbird!
Habits don’t necessarily have to be bad or unpleasant – I like that you’ve included both aspects. The last one sounds fun!
PS: I read Nanka’s lovely work every week but can never leave a comment. I click but am directed nowhere – I’d like to say how much I enjoy her Haiku.
Habits…they are comforting, aren’t they? (Even if sometimes harmful.)
Is blogging a habit?
Hmmmmm . . .
JzB
Hmmm nachos and wings – this is making me hungry! I’m off to the supermarket to get something for dinner.
I’m heading to Toronto the half way through the first week of March I think but no flights confirmed yet – I need to move that to the top of my To Do List!
nachos. Smithwicks and wings… that’s a habit I don’t want to break!
freestyle??? groan
I want to come to the Tuesday habit!!!!!!!!!!
It’s the highlight of my week most of the time, Becky! :)
Your Tuesday habit sounds like a good one to cultivate! Nothing better than good laughter, good food and (best of all) good friends!
