Sensational Haiku Wednesday

Welcome to “Sensational Haiku Wednesday!”

Click here for info and background on this weekly event!

The basics:

Haiku is simple! It is 3 non-rhyming lines of 5, 7, and 5 syllables respectively (a great way to use your fingers!)

This week’s theme is: Preparation

      Never know, do you?
      Prepared for what is coming?
      Um… probably not!

      Just know someone will
      Take this topic and giggle…
      Preparation H!

Ok, even I can be uninspired sometimes… sue me ;)

P.S. I just realized that some of you aren’t going to know what Preparation H is… now you may join our potty-humour crowd and giggle along with us. You’re welcome. ;)

Next week’s theme: Accident(s)

Note: Nothing makes me happier than to see new people getting “hooked on haiku”! Keep it going to make it to the Hooked on Haiku List

  1. Wonderful Haiku’s for preparation.. I love it..

  2. Madeleine says:

Your comments made me giggle. Somtimes others inspire me when I’m stuck for ideas, a little like passive brainstorming. I enjoyed your haiku. :O)

  3. Who comes up with these prompts,Jenn? Is it some evil gremlin, randomly opening the dictionary and pointing at a word? :-) I’m still struggling to write my Preparation Haiku, and hope to have it posted in a few hours. Others must be struggling too, because not even Thom or Quilly have linked yet! ;-)

    • Jenn says:

Thom is on hiatus for a few weeks, and I think Quilly had some stuff going on too. Might not see her today (hope so though!). J-B is off having a fabulous golf-week in SC with 3 of his buddies, so he won’t be around today either. We’ll see him next week though.

You know, it’s increasingly hard to come up with new prompts! Sometimes J-B and ShaMoo help me out, but most of the time I’m thinking about them as I write mine for the week. Feel free to submit some ideas! Just can’t duplicate what we’ve already used ;) In fact, I’m going to write a post for tomorrow to ask for ideas…

  4. Nessa says:

That was so funny. I never even went there until I read your haiku. I’ll keep coming back to the thought all day.

    • Jenn says:

Heehee, you’re welcome ;) I don’t usually have potty humour first and foremost in my mind, but I definitely brain-farted yesterday…

  5. Amanda says:

Thom’s on Hiatus remember when I saw the preparation thing I knew if he was playing this week he would a hilarious thing on Hemorrhoids for sure!

  6. ShaMoo says:

OMG, Preparation H??? I laughed like crazy when I read that; love it! Hope you’re having a good one, hon!!

  7. Victoria says:

Nice to start the day with a good laugh and a haiku.

  8. This was a tough one me. I am moody but did not feel like writing some mood poem I thought of a wedding.

  9. RiA says:

    I don’t think Thom’s blogging this month – or I’d bet he’d hit on Prep H!!

  10. LOL Great humor is always good to start a day. Love this haiku. Thanks for the giggles. Have a wonderful day :)

  11. Cathy S. says:

    Prepared childbirth, huh?
No way to warn you enough,
    For toddlers or teens!

    County spelling bee,
    Without a coach, out I went –

  12. Nimue says:

No preparation is best preparation ;)

  13. Nanka says:

Digital Countdown to the preparations have started for the Winter Festival!! :)
