You know… that Blog?

Sooooo not motivated for this

Written By: Jenn - Jul• 16•10

We leave tomorrow on our “working vacation”. I’m nowhere near ready. Can you tell I’m not looking forward to it? Hubby said much the same thing last night as we sat in the living room, not packing.

It wouldn’t be so bad, but the kids will be along, and there is nothing worse than driving long hours AND working with 2 grumpy kids in the back voicing their opinions. Constantly. Wee One is so excited to be going on vacation – right now she’s dancing and singing, and gathering armfuls of toys and books to bring along for the ride. The Teen knows better – she’s still in bed as I write this, and I’ll probably have to tip her out of it in a couple hours to get some help with packing and preparation. Boy, that’ll be fun. Not.

In an effort to minimize the complaints on the longer days, we plan to ditch them drop them off at a mall in the larger cities that I have to be in, but the smaller townships and whatnot will mean carting them with us.

Then there’s the whole “seeing the inlaws” bit, and you already know how I feel about that. Even Hubby isn’t looking forward to it, and I don’t think it’s because I’m overly transparent about how I feel about his sarcastic, obnoxious sister, either. Oh, was that out loud? Sorry.

Anyway. This is obviously not getting it done, so…

  1. I don’t know which is worse, packing or packing for a work vacation. Actually? I don’t know what a working vacation is, let alone what it feels like. In my work life, it’s an either-or proposition. Anyway, try to have a little fun in the midst of all that work.

Working vacation is the only way we could take this one – I have client locations to visit all over the east coast and have to get them done! We will try to pack some fun in as well. Right now looks like the beach might not work out (just viewing the weather forecast for where we’re going to be. Blah!) Oh well, c’est la vie! We’ll find a way to make it fun.

Buck up sister. You will have a good time despite the “working” and “inlaws” The best part is is “ditch them”. You crack me up LOL. Have a good time :) I can’t wait to hear all about the travels :)

If you can’t find big fun, look for moments of joy.

your wee one and my wee one need to get together, I think, since mine does the same thing – dancing, singing, gathering toys by the armful and stuffing them in a backpack (while forgetting the pajamas, toothbrush and clothes). ;)

(hugs) I’m sure it will be okay. I won’t say good, but I will say *okay*. ;)
