Jenn should learn to keep quiet.
I hurt a loved one’s feelings this week without meaning to – and I feel absolutely awful about it. He should know that I would never hurt him for the world, and that I am truly sorry.

Jenn, I did that same thing Thursday. I thought I was badmouthing Sara Palin (I was) but he was talking about his daughter (I didn’t know that). Things got straightened out, sort of. I do hope you have things patched up!

Thanks for the kind words, everyone. I think we’ve worked it out – I was able to give him a big hug last night, and I get the sense that we’re OK. Broke my heart to know that I’d hurt him though, with a offhand comment I didn’t think twice about.
I will certainly be more thoughtful in the future, and try to mend my “open mouth without engaging brain” ways.
Sorry you hurt someone’s feelings but it seems to be under control now. My family has a really special talent for making each other feel like crap, whether intentionally or not, and your words made me think of that.
