Welcome to “Sensational Haiku Wednesday!”
Click here for info and background on this weekly event!
The basics:
Haiku is simple! It is 3 non-rhyming lines of 5, 7, and 5 syllables respectively (a great way to use your fingers!)
This week’s theme is: Comfort
Strength in a friendship
Solid hugs, warm smiles, and love
Makes my world better.
Next week’s theme: FreeStyle!
Note: Nothing makes me happier than to see new people getting “hooked on haiku”! Keep it going to make it to the Hooked on Haiku List
To participate in this week’s event, please use the following code in your post on your own blog (if you don’t have a blog, post your Haiku as a comment):
Hardly seems right to be first and not have to cyber arm-wrestle Knarf for top spot. Knarf, I hope you`re having an amazing time… and that you come back in one piece!!
Yeah… I didn’t stay up to move your post where it’s supposed to be, and link you up. So you’re 12th!! You and I need to sit down and learn ya some of this stuff, sister ;)
I liked this one. I’m all linked up. Hope you have a wonderful Wednesday.
Oops. Don’t know how I managed to get my link up there twice. Sorry…senile and all that.
Awww how touching and so true. Makes my world better too :). Well done.
I like it. Friends are truly a gift.
Cuddled in warm bed
The kids snuggled beside us
A cold day’s comfort
Sounds like my house, and it’s a great comfort!!
My daughter moves into her dorm on the 24th – I will miss Sun mornings in the bed!
Yes, indeed…our friends make the world a much better place!
Glad you have great friends around you. Hope your week is going well.
Jade
As usual, I took a different approach…
Very nice! Nothing better than friends and warm hugs!
No truer words…what would we do or where would we be if it weren’t for the support of our solid friendships? (sorry I’ve been gone so long…I’ll try to be more consistent)
And you thought that I had forgotten . . . . Ha! I would be so uncomfortable if that had happened!!!
amen to that sista :-)
Lovely haiku! Friends definitely make my life better. Thanks for hosting again. Have a wonderful week, Jenn.
Oh I’ve missed last week. Well here’s one for “comfort”:
Couch potato me
remote, click, remote click, clock
drink another beer
haha Manny! I bet there are a few men doing that very thing right about now :) Well done!
Thank you. :)
Do you by any chance hang out with my BFF? I don’t know how we stay friends – you just described his perfect Sat, I always want to do stuff. I’m kind of hyper, then Sunday I’m annoying my husband!
Were you referring to me RiA? Well, I described a lot of men dsuring football season. ;)
January day
Gray, bleak, and miserable.
Flu in my dorm room
Can’t even get up.
She knocks, comes in with a gift;
One cold can of Squirt.
My daughter loves Squirt, only it’s hard to get around here. I may have to find some and send it next winter to her dorm~
I’ve never heard of Squirt (a softdrink, I assume?)
Well done, Cathy!
That is nice for a person hot with fever from the flu. I am sure she couldn’t have made chicken soup there at the dorm for you like Mom would done at home.
You poor baby, get well soon! :)
[As a retired college prof I have to ask you, could you make it to class? Are you doing your homework? If you missed class be sure to get the assignment from your profs or another student in the classes.]
..
Next week I will ask you what your major is. :)
..
Those are world improving things! (I am way late this week. Blame it on the fact that my day started 4 hours later than usual. My poem explains it all.)
Hi Cathy ~~ I am liking your strength! This is a nice one.* My haiku has some of those too, I should have thought of strength giving. :)

Jim my dear… that was mine, not Cathy’s ;)
I thought it sounded familiar. I also thought I had left you a comment but it isn’t here so I guess I read and put commenting off. Sorry about that.
I clicked her link and it came here!
Anyway I like your link. And now I remember from last week, Cathy posts her haiku here in your comments.
I’ll go up above and read it now! :)
..
sorry i missed this one… i couldn’t find comfort last week when a good friend of mine died. i stayed away from blogging. hopefully i’m in better shape now and would be able to find the motivation and inspiration to go haiku-ing again.
hey, this doesn’t mean i have gotten over my haiku addiction. i am still so addicted. :D
Oh Bing, I’m so sorry! :( *hugs*
Just lovely. But your haiku always are!
